Save money without sacrificing the fun next time your grandchildren visit!
Share memories while you and your grandchildren cook a family recipe. Tell your grandchildren all about the recipe, where it came from, who first started cooking it, etc. Then set-aside some time so you can cook the family recipe together. I’ll never forget my grandmother teaching me how to make “Forgotten Chicken”—throw the chicken in the oven and “forget about it!” I am sure your grandchildren will love learning about their family recipes too!
Books, CD’s, movies and games all at your fingertips at no cost! Check with your local library to find out about the many free shows and programs they offer throughout the year.
Most museums have a “free” day one day a week. Take advantage of this freebie and bring your grandchildren along as well!
Disposable cameras are inexpensive and more importantly they are fairly indestructible, which is always a plus when dealing with children. Take a walk around your neighborhood with your budding photographers / grandchildren and watch their imaginations run wild as they snap away at all the “cool” things they see. After the visit, have the photos developed and turn your house into a gallery for the next time the grandchildren visit.
