Live in New York City? Looking for something to do on Thursday night? Be sure to zip over to Barnes and Noble at 1972 Broadway to hear the hilarious and insightful Lisa Kogan read from her new book, Someone will be with you Shortly. The book is a collection of essays from Ms Kogan. I am a huge fan of the “personal essay” genre especially if done well and Lisa Kogan is one of my favorites, right up there with Erma Bombeck and Nora Ephron. What I love most about Kogan’s work is her ability to make me laugh while also pointing out something really poignant or meaningful. If Kogan’s name sounds familiar you may have read her essays in O magazine where she is a monthly contributor (not too shabby)! Find the details of the event here. Can’t tend the event? Tune into Mommy on a Shoestring Radio on May 6th when Lisa Kogan joins us as a guest! We’ll also be giving away a few copies of her book! Shoestrings and smiles, Beth
